The Pilion Centre - News 2007

The news from the “Pilion Centre”.

Hello from the Pilion Centre, Anilio, Greece, where we are getting ready for Summer 2008. This year are will be cutting-back the shoulder-high spring grasses, and planting the flower and organic vegetable garden, in preparation for an early opening!

Thank you to the people who have expressed concern about last year's Greek fires. We are happy to say that the Pilion region (unusually for Greece) has plentiful mountain streams, and that the forests and beaches around the Centre are as beautiful as ever.

For the whole of this Summer we will have two experienced volunteer cooks (one Greek, one Bulgarian) making delicious healthy vegetarian dishes, and we also anticipate the involvement of a local herbalist.

English-speaking visitors will, of course, be as welcome as ever, and there will be plenty of 'old faces' from the UK. Although the centre is under new management, our ethos and daily timetable will be in line with previous years.

Our popular 'Two week Deal' which offers a second week's stay for £100 (or less, for people wanting to camp under the cherry trees) will again be available; for people who have already booked Workshop weeks, or who are thinking of doings so, we recommend this addition as many people find once there, they wished they could stay longer. Click on Workshops to find out more.

Our 'Open House' stays, are available May to September. This is a chance to slow down and appreciate living in our laid-back community atmosphere. These are still very good value indeed compared with other Mediterranean Holistic holidays, and we are relatively easy to reach, despite the remote unspoilt nature of the Pilion region. We have put together useful travel information contributed by visitors from last year.

We have some excellent Workshops in preparation, both English-speaking 'old favourites' and some Greek/English speaking 'newcomers'. These will be posted on our 'Workshop' page as the year progresses, so watch this space!

Calling all Volunteers...

"I loved the week at Pilion because it was so relaxed and easy.  I really appreciated how things were organised for us if we wished - things like trips to the beach, sorting out transport.  And that the volunteers joined in events and took time to connect with us.  I felt at ease immediately". - Lindsey

Looking forward to hearing from you.
